Into Thin Air: A first-hand account of a tragic 1996 Everest Expedition that ended in the death
of nine people.  This is one of the great adventure books of all time.  If for some reason if you
have not read this you should definitely pick it up. (John Krakauer)

Touching the Void:   This story does not take place in Nepal but since Nepal is the unofficial
home of outdoor adventures why not recommend an amazing survival story.  This is a harrowing
account of one man's will to survive when left for dead in the Peruvian Andes.  This book is short
and concise.  It is impossible to express in words what this author went through to survive.
